A Personal Journey, and
a Shared Goal.
Chaza Attar began her career working with children, driven by a passion for supporting those who needed someone to believe in them. Her mission was simple: to give children a chance, especially when others had stopped trying.
Her journey into the field of autism and Applied Behaviour Analysis began with one little boy at a daycare—a child who would forever change the direction of her life.
Finding Another Way
Multiple teachers had struggled to support the child, and had described him as “too difficult.”
When Chaza walked into the room for the first time and couldn’t find him, the staff directed her to the rug in the corner—his favourite spot.
This little boy didn’t join circle time, became upset when things didn’t go his way, and even daily routines like diaper changes felt impossible. He wasn’t speaking or communicating in a meaningful way. But what Chaza saw wasn’t a difficult child—she saw a child who needed someone to understand him.
The thought of a young child being isolated and misunderstood was heartbreaking, and she knew there had to be another way.
It was compassion and curiosity that pushed Chaza to learn more about autism and the science of behaviour. Fresh out of university with no formal training in ABA at the time, she began researching ways to connect with him—how to play, how to teach, how to help him communicate, and how to bring him back into a world where he had been sitting alone.
That experience became the foundation of her lifelong commitment to supporting children and families. Chaza went on to complete her Master’s degree in Disability Studies specializing in Applied Behaviour Analysis and spent over seven years providing individualized therapy in homes, schools, and community settings.
What started with one little boy sitting alone on a rug became a lifelong mission to help every child feel included, valued, and understood.
Chaza is a Registered Behaviour Analyst with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO), a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), and an International Behaviour Analyst (IBA). She specializes in working with young children diagnosed with autism, developing individualized treatment plans that focus on each child’s unique strengths, needs, and goals.
She founded Autism Therapy & Training Inc. in 2011, opening its first centre in Woodbridge, Ontario, with a vision to create a supportive, evidence-based environment where children and families could receive individualized care designed to help every child reach their full potential.
Chaza earned her Master’s degree in Disability Studies with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Brock University. Throughout her career, she has worked across home-based therapy, school consultation, clinical supervision, and treatment for learners funded through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP)— and continues to mentor and train her team, students, and future behaviour analysts.
With years of clinical experience, Chaza focuses on evidence-based practices that enhance meaningful outcomes for children and families, with particular interest in early language development, caregiver collaboration, and holistic approaches that support the whole child. At the heart of her work is a simple belief: when children are understood, supported, and given the right tools, they can achieve incredible growth.
